Wilmington police identified the man fatally stabbed as 53-year-old Clarence Aubrey. His girlfriend, Joanne Howard has been charged with murder.
Police say Howard and Aubrey were arguing Saturday when she grabbed a steak knife from a butcher block and stabbed him repeatedly.
Howard was already on probation for stabbing Aubrey last summer. Records show Howard admitted she stabbed Aubrey during an argument at their apartment in 2009 and was sentenced to two years' probation.
Records show Howard and Aubrey were charged in a fight they had in 2007 but those charges were later dropped. Howard is being held in Baylor Women's Correctional Center.
