U.S. feline honored as world's longest house cat

RENO, Nev. (AP) - October 20, 2010

The 5-year-old Maine Coon takes the new Guinness record for the longest domestic cat. Stewie is owned by a Reno, Nevada, couple.

Robin Hendrickson and Erik Brandsness say they decided go for the record after so many people commented on Stewie's size.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports Stewie measures 48 and a-half inches from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail bone.

That's a little more than four feet long.
