Officers in South Carolina have taken a fourth-grader into custody, after he lead them on two separate car chases in two days.

Marion City police Lt. Farmer Blue says the first incident was Monday, when the boy drove away in a fire department truck that was in a training area lot.

Blue says the youngster led about a dozen patrol cars on a 45-minute chase around the city.

The boy was released to his family, but the next day drove off in an SUV taken from a restaurant near his home.

A family court judge has signed an order allowing the child to be placed in state custody.
