Apology for late calls on Nev. ballot question

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - October 26, 2010

The campaign supporting a Nevada constitutional amendment over judges says Stones' Phones Inc. wrongly programmed the time that the automated calls were supposed to be made. Residents were called between midnight and 1:15 a.m. Monday.

Company co-owner Paul Stone released an apology that was phoned Monday afternoon to everyone who received the late-night wake up.

The apology included a phone number and an e-mail to lodge complaints.

One person welcomed the apology for the 12:30 a.m. call, saying "late night calls give me a heart attack, so when the phone rings I panic."

The campaign has fired the company.
