The accident took place on October 12th at around 10:45 a.m. in the 900 block North York Road in Upper Moreland.
Police say the teen lost control of his Volkswagen Passat, which slammed into an elderly woman on the sidewalk.
After investigating, police say the teen was driving 79 miles an hour in a 35 zone and intentionally threw his car into a slide, in a racing move known as "drifting."
The teen will be tried as a juvenile.
