Del. Breast Cancer Coalition opens Wilmington re-sale shop

WILMINGTON, Del. - Nov. 12, 2010

Those are just a few deals available at "Great Stuff," a new resale shop that the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition just opened in the Talleyville shopping center in Wilmington, Del.

Shop Manager Dale Maahs explains, "Women can come in here and feel at ease and shop in a pretty environment, although they're shopping for bargains."

Looking at the quality of the inventory, you might be surprised to learn it's all donated -- not consignment.

DBCC Vice President Stacey Bacchieri explains, "All the donations that are made are flat-out donations. We give a tax receipt to the people who come in and make those donations. And all the proceeds help with the programs that DBCC offers."

That includes programs such as matching newly-diagnosed patients with survivors who can support and mentor them, and also offering rides to chemotherapy, radiation and doctor's appointments.

Knowing where your shopping dollar will end up makes the bargains here even sweeter. Even items that are new with tags are priced at 20-30% of original retail.

We found a Ralph Lauren suede blazer for $59 and navy Ralph Lauren pants for $29. An Abercrombie cardigan was priced at $29 and Theory slacks were $49.

In addition to clothes, the shop also sells home décor items and furniture.

DBCC's Great Stuff is located at 3916-A Silverside Road in the Talleyville Center in Wilmington, Del. Click here for the store website.
