6 more southern NJ churches merging

CAMDEN, N.J. - October 31, 2010

The latest changes, which takes effect Dec. 1, involves churches in Cumberland and Salem counties.

Two Millville churches - St. John Bosco and St. Mary Magdalen - will combine to form the Parish of All Saints. Its seat will be at St. Mary Magdalen, and the parish will serve about 1,350 families.

Meanwhile, the St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish will be formed by consolidating Corpus Christi in Carneys Point; Queen of the Apostles in Pennsville; St. James in Penns Grove and St. Mary in Salem.

Its seat will be Corpus Christi, with Queen of the Apostles and St. Mary also being used as worship sites. The new parish will serve about 1,825 families.
