Authorities say 21-year-old Eduardo Villareal was treated for minor injuries Monday and was booked after being released from a hospital.
Prosecutors must decide whether to charge Villareal, who told police he was trying to kill himself and no one else.
A Los Angeles County sheriff's department website says Villareal remains jailed Tuesday on $1 million bail.
Police say he got into an argument Sunday with his ex-girlfriend over custody of their 10-day-old baby and smashed his Cadillac Escalade into a bedroom with the victims inside.
