The front yard needs some curb appeal

WASHINGTON (AP) - November 10, 2010

That's what Interior Secretary Ken Salazar says.

He's talking about the National Mall in Washington, which he calls "the front yard of America."

He gives the mall a grade of "C" because of dead grass and sinking seawalls.

Salazar wants the National Park Service to upgrade the mall to "A" level.

But it won't be easy.

Millions of feet tread on the mall, during concerts, protests and sightseeing.
