Suspect sought after Willow Grove bank robbery

WILLOW GROVE, Pa. - November 14, 2010

The robbery occurred at approximately 11:42 a.m. at the branch located at 1919 Easton Road.

Police say the suspect entered the bank and demanded cash from the tellers, implying that he had a gun.

He placed an undisclosed amount of cash into a plastic bag with a pull-string, then fled the bank. Police believe he jumped into a dark blue Kia Sephia sedan bearing Pennsylvania license plate HKD-3226.

A responding officer spotted the Kia and attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the driver fled south on Fitzwatertown Road into Philadelphia, where it was lost.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male in his early 20's, thin build, clean shaven, wearing a dark-colored heavy winter coat or sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, a black scarf over his face, and dark gloves. During the robbery, the scarf fell down off of his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Abington Police Department at 267-536-1092 or the FBI at 215-418-4000.
