DA: Teen football player's death likely accidental

WARREN, Mass. - November 16, 2010

Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early says the boy, Michael Ellsessar, was hit early in the Monday game and later collapsed on the field at Quaboag (QUAY'-bog) Regional High School in Warren, about 60 miles west of Boston. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Ellsessar attended Sutton High School, which shares a football team with a high school in nearby Oxford.

Early said Tuesday that a state trooper who was also a referee at the game attempted CPR on the teen.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death.
