Officer injured in Port Richmond crash

PORT RICHMOND - November 21, 2010

The two-vehicle accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Allegheny Avenue and Emerald Street.

The impact of the crash caused the police vehicle to veer onto the sidewalk and crash into a business called the Shooter Shop.

The officer, a male in his 20s, was taken by ambulance to Temple University Hospital and is in stable condition suffering from a broken arm.

The officer will be released from the hospital today, though surgery will be needed on his arm at a later date.

No word yet if the officer was responding on a call or not.
