The fire broke out at approximately 12:15 a.m. near the intersection of 61st Street and Hazel Avenue.
Flames spread quickly on the exterior of the houses.
Investigators don't know yet what sparked the fire.
We are told the five homes affected were vacant and no one was injured.
L&I was called to the scene to inspect the houses. There was a partial collapse to the roof of two of the houses.
