Del. proposes cleanup plan for Chrysler plant

WILMINGTON, Del. - November 25, 2010

The News Journal reports that state officials said Wednesday that industrial compounds and other pollutants were found in soils around two portions of a plant area that's now under consideration as a future new manufacturing site.

They plan to release their cleanup plans at a Dec. 8 public workshop.

Officials say soil needs to be removed at two hot spots where potentially hazardous compounds were found.

Chrysler used the plant to build and test tanks prior to turning the operation over to civilian automobile production.
