Jersey shore summer home destroyed by fire

LONGPORT, N.J. - November 30, 2010

Flames broke out at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday on the unit block of S. Manor Avenue.

The intensity of the fire caused the roof to collapse and responding firefighters were forced to call in additional companies to battle the blaze.

Neighbors tell Action News that the home was unoccupied and used mainly in the summer.

It took over an hour to get the blaze under control.

There is no word yet on what may have caused the fire.
