Historic manor house damaged in 3-alarm fire

WEST BRANDYWINE, Pa. - December 7, 2010

The fire broke out just past 12:00 a.m. Tuesday on the 100 block of Germany Hollow Road.

Flames spread quickly and firefighters escalated the response to 3 alarms.

It took over two hours to place the blaze under control.

At least 3 families, 10 people including 4 children under the age of 5, are displaced. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants.

The manor house is a family home built in the 1700's, which also operates as a popular Bed and Breakfast.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
