Blood leads to razor blade thief

CRANBERRY, Pa. (AP) - December 14, 2010

Twenty-nine-year-old Michael Barton, of Oil City, was in the Venango County Prison on Monday because the shoplifting charges police filed Friday violated his probation on another case. Online court records don't list an attorney for Barton.

State police in Franklin say Barton took two trays of Gillette razor blades out of their packages in an attempt to steal them shortly after 5 p.m. Friday. Police say Barton cut himself in the process and a store security officer called police when he noticed the blood.
