Phila. police: Woman claims being raped, choked

December 30, 2010 1:58:04 PM PST
Philadelphia police tell Action News that they are investigating a report of a woman who said she was raped and choked.

The victim says she was attacked in an abandoned home on Orleans Street near Kensington Avenue overnight.

She went on to tell police she was brought to the abandoned home by the male who strangled her until she lost consciousness. She woke up partially clothed.

The woman was taken to the police homicide office for questioning.

Special Victims investigators will also take the woman to the hospital for a rape kit and will also question her.

This case appears to have some similarities to the attacks perpetrated by the so-called "Kensington Strangler," however no such connection has been made by police so far.
