Driver surrenders in deadly hit and run

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - January 2, 2011

Forty-two-year-old Sam Miles IV of Williamstown, Gloucester County, turned himself in late Saturday afternoon. He was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in a fatality and was released after posting $50,000 bail.

Authorities say the accident occurred sometime between 3 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. Saturday in Winslow Township. Twenty-three-year-old Stacy Casalnova and 29-year-old Sean Scolla, both of Winslow, were struck as they walked home from a nearby establishment.

Casalnova was pronounced dead at the scene, while Scolla remained in critical but stable condition at Cooper Hospital in Camden on Sunday.
