New Year's babies have birth date to remember

PHILADELPHIA - January 1, 2011

"1-1-11 is a pretty cool birth date," said new mom Catherine Buckman.

And it will be double the birthday fun for first time parents Catherine and Scott Buckman of Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey.

Their twin boys were the first babies of the New Year born at Virtua Voorhees Hospital.

"My husband was looking forward to the tax break of yesterday, and that came and went," said new mom Catherine Buckman.

First came Max, at 4:12 am, then Jack at 4:14am.

"It was surreal because we were watching the Dick Clark New Year's Eve special, and two hours later we were driving to the hospital," said Scott Buckman.

It was quite the surprise, because the boys were due on January 28th.

"They were exactly 36 weeks yesterday which was my target date. I thought they would come, and I was right," said Catherine.

At 4:39 this morning, Albert Einstein Medical Center welcomed it's New Year's baby, Ariyanna Shakura Peyton who came right in time for the party.

And it was for Jennifer Peyton of Mount Airy whose third child came a week early.

"I was going to go in the house with my two other kids and watch the ball with them, and instead I went to hospital and watched the ball with you. How cute. I am so happy!" said Jennifer Peyton.

The whole family was already celebrating! And she was this close to losing the distinction of first baby born at this hospital.

"Actually, there was another lady in the next room, and I beat her by a minute. I was surprised because she could have beaten me," said Peyton.

Jennifer says on Sunday she will play her lucky new numbers, 1-1-11.
