The folks at WalletPop.com have great advice on how to keep track and access receipts, warranties, and manuals from your holiday shopping and gift getting.
The first step is to sign up for an Evernote account. Then log in and create a folder called "Holiday 2010."
After that - scan or take pictures of all your receipts and warranty info as well as the actual items. Then save the info as a note in your holiday folder. Now if you lose the paper - you'll be covered.
And here's a great place to find lost manuals.
Retrevo.com has lost manuals for thousands of consumer electronics. Everything from game consoles to eReaders and HDTVs and Blu-ray players.
If you sign up for a Retrevo account, you can add your holiday gifts to your account for easy access year around.
No more hunting through boxes and piles of paper. Can't beat that, right?
And one more thing before I let you go: this Wednesday, January 5th - for only 24 hours - WalletPop will be giving away a downloadable copy of David Bach's book, "Debt Free for Life: The Finish Rich Plan to Financial Freedom." And for 10 weeks, David Bach himself will coach you out of debt using weekly videos, action plans, and much more.
Just click on WalletPop on January 5th.
After all, getting your finances in order is one of the most common New Year's Resolutions.
Happy New Year, everybody.
