NJ gov gives commencement address in Delaware

NEWARK, Del. - January 9, 2011

Christie, who graduated from the school in 1984, was lauded as "a bold reformer" by A. Gilchrist Sparks III, chairman of the school's board of trustees.

During his address, Christie planned to tell the 1,334 graduates to be open to the possibilities that the future may hold.

The 48-year-old governor has warm memories of his days as a UD undergrad. He met his future wife there, got his political start as student body president and says generally he "evolved" as a person while at the school in Newark, Del.

Christie gave the commencement address in 2004 while serving as U.S. Attorney for New Jersey and was elected to the Alumni Association's Hall of Fame last year.
