New Castle County Police are investigating an armed robbery of a Wilmington liquor store.

At 8:19 p.m. last Thursday, County Police responded to the Cleland Heights Liquor Store, located in the 1100 block of South Rodney Drive, for a report of a robbery that just occurred.

When police arrived, the two victims, the store owners, a 65-year-old male and 58-year-old female, said they were just accosted and robbed by three men who had their faces concealed, one of which who brandished a handgun.

Police learned the suspect then held the female victim at gunpoint and demanded cash from the register. The woman handed the gunman an undisclosed amount of cash, prior to three of the robbers fleeing the store.

A fourth male was observed standing by the front door as the other suspects made their way out the door. They all ran in the direction of St. Elizabeth's High School.

The suspects are described as:

  • A black male, approximately 5'10" tall with an average build, wearing a camouflage jacket and mask and carrying a silver handgun.
