10 pit bulls found dead after Delco fire

SHARON HILL, Pa. - January 13, 2011

The fire broke out in a detached garage around 9:00 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Cherry Street.

The fire was contained to the garage and was under control within 20 minutes.

The dead dogs were discovered when firefighters went inside the garage.

No one was home at the time of the fire, which is about 20 feet away from the burned garage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Sources tell Action News that the state animal warden responded to the scene to investigate if the dogs were kept there in an illegal kennel and illegal breeding operation.
