Jurors came back with a guilty verdict on Friday in Berks County Court, convicting Antoine S. Williams of first-degree murder in the slaying of Scott D. Bitler, a 32-year-old barber, as he was closing his shop for the day, the Reading Eagle reported.
Bitler's friends and family were overcome with emotion after the decision was announced. His sister, Kim Becker, later told the newspaper that his family was relieved at the outcome, but says they would never truly get justice.
Williams' lawyer, Douglas Waltman, said he would appeal the verdict to Superior Court.
