NJ court sets affordable housing deadline

TRENTON, N.J. - January 20, 2011

A state appeals court on Wednesday said the state also must submit progress reports on the new rules every two weeks.

The court in October struck down a large portion of the state's affordable housing rules.

The Council on Affordable Housing has asked the state Supreme Court to delay the requirement while several groups appeal the October court decision.

The Legislature last week passed a bill that would eliminate the council and set new goals for the states affordable housing policy.
