State Police in New York say a Pennsylvania man died after being struck by bales of hay that had fallen off a flat-bed truck.

According to the Post-Standard, police say it happened Thursday while George Baker was parked along county Route 5 in Lafargeville loading up bales of hay to take back to Pennsylvania.

Police say the 66-year-old driver from Gap, Pa., was securing tie-down straps when three hay bales fell onto him. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
