Firefighters responded early Saturday morning to the Aldan Recreation Center on the 200 block of Shisler Avenue.
They encountered a car on fire. When crews extinguished the fire, they found the body of a person inside of the car. The body was burned beyond recognition.
Aldan police say they are treating the tragedy as a fatal accident.
The Aldan Rec Center suffered some damage because of the fire.
