Mother Nature leaves thousands without power

January 27, 2011

PECO says they have about 15,000 customers without power and they have activated their emergency response center, meaning all available crews are working.

They say most of those outages are in Chester County with some in Bucks County.

The cause of the majority of the outages are downed trees and tree limbs. Most of the outages occurred between midnight and 3:00am.

PECO hopes to have all customers restored today or tonight.

PSE&G says they have about 2,500 customers without power - mostly in the southern part of New Jersey around Voorhees, Cherry Hill and Medford.

Delmarva Power (DP&L) is reporting a total of 24,787 outages in Maryland and Delaware - 3,336 of those outages are in New Castle. The rest are reportedly in Maryland.

Atlantic Electric has 6,775 outages in their coverage area. They hope to have most restored later this morning.
