The Philadelphia Auto Show opened its doors at the Convention Center on Saturday.
Gear heads, tire kickers and the just plain curious crowded into the Auto Show for opening day. It was a good sign for the dealers trying to recover from a dismal recession.
"To have this much activity on the first morning is very encouraging," said Auto Show chairman Dominic Conicelli.
But will the crowds head to the showrooms after the show?
Rick Peraino of West Chester said the economy was a factor in his decision. "There's a not a lot a disposable income at the moment. Not looking for a new car just yet."
Electric vehicles attracted a lot of attention this year.
"It's nice looking car, actually," said Bill Spanier of East Hampton, N.J. while admiring the Chevy Volt. "I don't know what the range is of it. 400 miles, I think? That's pretty incredible."
The Auto Show runs through February 6th.
