Pizza, wings, chips, dip, cookies and cakes.
If you are going to a SuperBowl party you'll probably be tempted to over-indulge.
So Lisa Jones, President of the Philadelphia Dietetic Association, suggests having a game plan for game day, starting in the morning.
Jones says, "Make sure you have a good breakfast with some protein- so maybe an egg and wheat toast, also get your metabolism up go for a walk or a jog."
Then, at the party, grab only a SMALL plate, for small tastings. And make some substitutions.
"Meat lovers is not a great idea," says Jones.
For instance, you can have one slice of meat-lovers pizza OR for the same amount of calories, you can have three cheese or veggie slices.
And instead of chowing down on a whole hoagie -
"You can go to subway, buy a big one and cut it in 6 inch portions- and you are going to save half the fat and half the calories."
Pretzels are also better than potato chips, and even better are veggies with low-fat dip.
Or better yet, skip the dip and reach for salsa.
Just remember moderation is the key, even when it comes to liquid calories.
"If you do a 6 pack of beer you are drinking 700 calories worth right there," says Jones.
And even if you do over-indulge, don't beat yourself up too badly- remember it's just one day and it can't be as bad as some people.
Yes, we're talking about Wing Bowl.
This year's winner ate a record 255 wings.
That's an estimated 18-thousand calories -the daily recommended intake for NINE DAYS!!!
There's some food for thought.
