My little man was driving me crazy in his innocent way: the usual whining and not listening. I told him I wasn't going to let him watch Spiderman if he didn't listen. To my horror, (and my husband's amusement) my sweet child replied with "blah, blah, blah"!!
The nerve!
When I scolded him, he made noises pretending he was snoring at me!! It is hard not to laugh, but when they disrespect you at 3, what happens when they're thirteen!!!??
I've tried time out, I've tried rewarding him when he's good, and taking things away when he's naughty. At this point, we're resorting to praying for the Supernanny to drop by my house!
I did read on babycenter.com that parents of 3 year olds should try "time-ins" - periods of hugs, kisses and praise for good behavior. He was very good last night, so I tried to really praise him and tell him how happy I am when he's a good boy.
He really is good very often. I'm just hoping to gain some control over his behavior!
