Del. state trooper injured in crash

GREENVILLE, Del.. - February 9, 2011

The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. on Lancaster Pike at Route 141.

Police say a 17-yer-old Wilmington boy was driving a Mercedes ML430 northbound on Route 141 as the trooper was crossing at the intersection with Lancaster Pike.

Investigators say the cruiser was fully marked with lights and sirens operating.

The two cars collided, with the cruiser clipping the front end of the Mercedes.

The trooper, only identified as a 31-year-old assigned to Troop 6, was taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The teen was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.
