The ninth Earl Spencer, best known for his moving eulogy to his sister during her 1997 funeral, is to wed in a private ceremony at his family's ancestral home in Althorp in central England on June 18.
Spencer, 46, is a writer and broadcaster who once worked as a contributing correspondent for NBC News. He's the author of books including "The Spencer Family" and "Blenheim: Battle for Europe."
Gordon is the founder and chief executive of Whole Child International, a Los Angeles-based charity which works to improve the lot of orphaned, abandoned, or abused children.
A statement from Spencer's representatives said no further details would be disclosed Tuesday.
