Warm temps keep sculptures out of Pa. ice fest

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. (AP) - February 18, 2011

The workers running the Clarks Summit Festival of Ice opted to hold nearly all the ice sculptures out of the event's opening festivities Thursday night because of unseasonably warm temperatures. Only one ice sculpture made it into the parade.

Organizer Laura Ancherani tells a local television station that the sculptures will make their appearance Friday evening as temperatures begin to drop.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of 60 degrees for Friday, but Saturday's high is expected to hover around freezing with a chance of snow.
