Some kids are getting a three-day weekend

ALBANY, Mo. (AP) - February 24, 2011

The Albany school board has voted to go to a four-day week, beginning with the next school year.

The school days will last an extra 45 minutes to make up for the shorter week.

District officials say the four-day week will save the small school system $78,000 a year.

A local TV station reports only one other district in the state has a four-day week.
