High winds, storms delay flights at Philly airport

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - February 26, 2011

Airport spokeswoman Victoria Lupica says Philadelphia's airport is experiencing 1.5-hour to 2-hour delays on arriving flights due to wind and weather. She says that more than 100 flights have been canceled.

The high winds have also knocked down trees, causing power outages and snarling traffic in parts of the Philadelphia region.

In central Pennsylvania, the Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era reports that nearly 5,000 lost power after high winds toppled utility poles and trees in parts of Lancaster County.
