Dog houses are going green

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. (AP) - February 28, 2011

He's made a name for himself designing green homes in the Pacific Northwest.

Now, he's doing environmentally friendly doggie digs.

Coates says people might be a little jealous of pooches living in his Bowhouse.

The 20-square-foot house has a plant-covered roof, water-recycling and even a heated floor.

Rain water is channeled from the roof, through a filtering system and into a doggie dish.

A Washington state newspaper reports the Bowhouse will be sold to benefit PAWS, a nonprofit pet health and welfare organization.
