Owner Hope Carpenter says the wolf, Baby Martin, got out of his enclosure Monday at the wildlife rehabilitation center in Mount Bethel, Northampton County. Carpenter says a fallen tree took down a fence, allowing the wolf to walk out.
Carpenter says the 13-year-old neutered wolf has spent his entire life in the enclosure. The Pennsylvania Game Commission says the wolf isn't dangerous and will likely run away if approached.
Chicken and cheese are being left near the open door of the enclosure in hopes of luring him back.
Anyone who sees the wolf is asked to contact Carpenter at the Pennsylvania Raptor and Wildlife Education Association.
