49-year-old George Troutman of Claymont was traveling on Philadelphia Pike approaching Cauffiel Parkway when his motorcycle struck the front of an oncoming Dodge Charger.
The crash happened just after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Troutman was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 17-year-old female driver of the car was treated and released from Wilmington Hospital.
