Update: Phila. woman dies in 4-car crash

WORCESTER, PENNSYLVANIA - March 4, 2011

Police report 23-year-old Emmanuella Semezier, of Philadelphia, died along Skippack Pike near Landis Road in Worcester Township shortly after the crash at about 11 p.m.

Accident investigators say a Jeep Cherokee driven by Jay Banion, 21, of Harleysville was speeding west on Skippack Pike and tried passing another car.

The Jeep crashed head-on into a Nissan Sentra that Semezier was driving.

The Jeep then struck another car, a Toyota Camry driven by Katherine Lozano, 19, of Lansdale, sending the Jeep flipping over and making it collide with a Ford Explorer, driven by Shannon Saeger, 19, of Harleysville.

Banion and his passenger, Steven Kratz, also of Harleysville, and Lozano were taken to the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center.

Police blocked the road for almost 6 hours while they investigated. They have not yet indicated what caused the crash.
