Authorities look for break in 2-year old Birnbaum murder

HOLLAND, Pa. - March 5, 2011

The family and authorities are appealing to the public to help solve the case.

"There's never a day that goes by that I don't think of him," says Terry Goldberg.

There is a somber tribute to personal injury Attorney Eric Birnbaum at the law offices of Terry D. Goldberg and Associates.

It was February 11, 2009. Birnbaum arrived at work as he normally did at 9:00am. He had just gotten out of his car in the parking lot of the Gateway Shopping Center on 92 Buck Road in Holland, Northampton Township.

He stopped to speak with a co-worker when a man wearing a knit ski cap and sunglasses, walked up from behind and shot him once in the back of the head.

The killer fled possibly in a blue minivan.

"I don't know anybody in his social world that he ever had a problem with. I don't think it had to do with his professional life," said Terry Goldberg. "It's a mystery."

The reward is up to $20,500. If you know anything, make that anonymous call to the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS.

"We are certainly willing and able at any moment to respond to anybody who has any information, even if they are not sure it is going to help the case, we want to hear it," said Deputy D.A. David Zellis.

"There are two young daughters suffering without their father around, and the parents are missing their son, and a sister and a bunch of friends missing a really terrific guy," said Goldberg. "And if you know something, the right thing to do is to tell the authorities what you know, what you heard, what you may have seen somewhere, and let them take it from there."

Again, that number is 215-546-TIPS.
