Police: Driver shot on I-95 in Chester

CHESTER, Pa. - March 6, 2011

At around 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Chester police were dispatched to the 2600 block of West 6th Street for shots fired.

Upon arrival, police were informed that a victim had left the area in a burgundy vehicle.

At approximately that same time, officers were dispatched to northbound I-95 for an accident with injuries.

When police arrived to that scene, a victim from the accident told authorities they were parked on the 2600 block of West 6th Street when the vehicle that they were in was fire upon injuring the driver in the back.

The driver lost control of the vehicle on I-95 northbound while attempting to seek medical attention.

The condition of the victim is not known at this time.

Police are investigating the shooting.
