Suspect apprehended after supermarket shutdown

LANSDOWNE, Pa. - March 8, 2011

At around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, police were called out to the Giant Supermarket store at 300 East Baltimore Avenue in Lansdowne.

The wanted man was later identified as 30-year-old Brandon Uhler.

It turns out, it was his former girlfriend who called police saying he was inside the store.

Police surrounded the store while Uhler was still inside.

He was, however, able to run from the store, but police caught up with Uhler two blocks away.

Customers said they didn't know what was going on; they were just told by store staff to get out.

Police say Uhler was wanted for stabbing a man in Myrtle Beach on March 5th.

The victim remains in critical condition.
