Investigators say the victim -- a man in his 30s -- was shot in the head at about 12:30 on Thursday morning.
It happened on the 6300 block of Dickens Avenue.
The wounded man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police that they saw the person who they think fired the shots, running down the street shortly after they heard gunfire.
So far, homicide detectives have not indicated if they have uncovered any motives or suspects in the case.
