Firefighters were called to the restaurant on DuPont Road near Maryland Avenue in the Five Points area around 10:48 a.m.
Rescuers say heavy smoke was pouring out of the building when they arrived. The fire was under control about 20 minutes later.
The restaurant was not open for business at the time and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
