Gunman robs Del. bank, escapes into woods

The robbery occurred around 10:50 a.m. at the Citizen Bank at 301 Louviers Drive in the Shoppes at Louviers. The suspect is described as black male, 5'08", average build, wearing a yellow hooded jacket with white stripes on the sides, a black burqa style mask with full covering down the legs, carrying a tan bag.

Police are on the lookout for a robber who struck a Newark bank Thursday morning.

The robbery occurred around 10:50 a.m. at the Citizen Bank at 301 Louviers Drive in the Shoppes at Louviers.

The suspect entered the bank wearing a mask and displayed a handgun at the tellers and passed a note, demanding money.

The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Upon fleeing from the bank, police say a dye pack in the money exploded.

The suspect dropped the money and fled into the woods behind the shopping center.

A Newark Police K9 tracked through the woods and located discarded clothing in the adjoining neighborhood, but was unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as black male, 5'08", average build, wearing a yellow hooded jacket with white stripes on the sides, a black burqa style mask with full covering down the legs, carrying a tan bag.
