A Delaware Department of Labor report Friday shows the jobless rate dipped from 8.5 percent to 8.4 percent. About 600 jobs were added at state restaurants. The unemployment rate was 8.6 percent a year ago.
The jobless rate in Wilmington remains high, though, at 12 percent.
A state economist says restaurants were a growth spot because consumers are starting to eat out again. They cut back considerably during the recession.
The report says Delaware has gained 5,000 jobs year over year.
