Cherry Hill family attacked in early morning home invasion

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - March 26, 2011

It was an absolutely terrifying attack for the Cherry Hill family. They fear for their live and wanted to remain unidentified.

"It looked like something out of a horror movie," said one of the home invasion victims.

The home was ransacked and furniture spattered with blood.

A 23 year old woman remains at Kennedy Hospital with her 30 year old husband.

His brother, the third victim, is back at their Cherry Hill home on Marlton Pike and spoke exclusively to Action News about the brutal home invasion, and the injuries they suffered.

"We were stripped naked, lay on top of each other, and that's when I thought he was going to kill us."

Two men armed with guns in hoodies kicked down the backdoor just before 3:00am Saturday morning. They yelled they were the Camden police. The victims soon learned otherwise.

"He came over and pistol whipped me, and brought me to living room. I was laying in puddle of blood."

One man brutalized them. The other searched for cash and valuables.

Another family member who wasn't there describes how they threatened to rape his sister-in-law.

"They grabbed my sister-in-law's hair and pulled her up, and hit her with a gun. It cut her eye open."

A laptop, a new camera, iPhones, and $4,000 were some of the stolen items, but that wasn't enough for the armed attackers.

"They took her thumb and pulled it all the way back to force her to talk; to make her give them what she had."

One of the victims is a waiter, the other two worked at a nail salon.

They didn't resist, but told the attackers to take what they wanted, but they were still beaten.

Cherry Hill police are looking for surveillance video to capture images of the suspects.

"It was very brutal, something we don't see in Cherry Hill often," said Lt. William Kushina. "It seems like they were targeted for whatever reason. Our investigation is going to have to get to the bottom of that."

"This time we were lucky," the victim said. "If I were here by myself or if my sister-in-law was her by herself, it would have been a different story. We would have been making funeral arrangements"
