Cellphone stop leads to gun, drug arrests

BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - March 27, 2011

State police say they recovered two guns and marijuana from a car that was pulled over after a trooper saw the driver talking on his cellphone.

It happened around 7:20 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 13 east of Bridgeville. Police say a trooper pulled over a car driven by 20-year-old Breon Scarborough of Temperanceville, Va.

The trooper smelled marijuana and, with the help of other troopers, removed Scarborough and two passengers and searched them and the car. They found two handguns, ammunition, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The driver was arrested along with his cousin, 20-year-old Tevin Scarborough of Pungoteague, Va., and 19-year-old Jaquan Leonard of Delmar, Del.
